Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 12, 2026
These terms govern your use of the bulkup iOS app ("the app"), developed by Hans Sorongon. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
The app
bulkup is a workout tracking app for iOS. It lets you plan training splits, log sets, view muscle activity on a 2D and 3D body model, and share session summaries. The app works entirely on your device and requires no account.
License
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer the app or any part of it.
Health and safety disclaimer
bulkup is a hobby project, not professional advice. The app is made by an independent hobbyist developer who simply wanted to build a fitness app — not a doctor, physical therapist, certified personal trainer, dietitian, or any other kind of health or fitness professional. Nothing in the app — including training splits, exercise selections, muscle mappings, or calorie estimates — was created or reviewed by a health professional, and none of it should be treated as medical or fitness advice. In particular:
- Consult a physician before starting any exercise program, especially if you have a pre-existing condition.
- You are solely responsible for choosing appropriate exercises, weights, and training volume, and for using proper form.
- Estimated calorie figures are approximations and should not be relied on for medical or dietary decisions.
- Resistance training carries inherent risk of injury. You use the app, and train, at your own risk.
Your data
All app data is stored locally on your device — see the Privacy Policy for details. Because there is no cloud backup, you are responsible for safeguarding your data, for example through device backups or the app's JSON export. Deleting the app permanently deletes its data.
Apple Health
If you connect Apple Health, the app writes completed workouts to HealthKit. Your use of Apple Health is also subject to Apple's own terms and privacy policy.
Availability and changes
The app is provided free of charge. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time, and support or availability of the app may be discontinued without notice.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. No guarantee is made that the app will be error-free or that data will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hans Sorongon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including personal injury, loss of data, or loss of profits — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
